We are pleased to present to you the issue of our Newsletter. We hope to utilize this as a means of staying in contact with parents / guardians of our children at the Center. Through our Newsletters you will be informed about themes of the month and other events that our days are filled with.

MEMORY MAKER

Next time you're down on the carpet playing with your child just remember:
• young children are the best learners we know. During the pre-school years a child learns more, faster than at any other time in his/her life.
• play is the means through which the child gains his/her experience of the environment, his/her world.
• play is the child's way of learning about the world around him/her, about him/herself, about other people. It's his/her way of organizing and learning to cope with this confusing world. It is also his/her way of assimilating most of the basic concepts that make the world go around. It is a basic to his/her development as a person and to the development of cognitive thought.
• play helps children to think more clearly and to begin to manage and control their feelings more successfully.
• play is the work of early childhood - neither as simple as pointless as most adults have come to believe.
